[October 2011]
Hello world.
It has indeed been a long time since I updated the jewellery page of my blog. And the number of times I revive myself from stints of hiatus, I might as well just give up altogether.
Though this time I do have a rather valid excuse if I may say so myself. I’ve been planning my upcoming wedding and then injured myself playing sg indoor soccer and endured over two weeks of bed rest!
So a sneak peek into what my pretty girls will be wearing on my big day…
Inspired by one of Oscar de la Renta’s older collections, I’ve made my five special ladies my very own take on floral and dangly
All five pairs are the same yet different, whether it be one bead or one stone. The pieces are comprised of Swarovski stones, Tourmaline, metallic beads and silver chain.
The day is drawing closeeee! *eep*!

It is with much excitement that I bring to you, a sneak peek to my new collection, Rosette.
~ * ~
As most of you know, all my pieces are one off, so it isn’t very often that I create collections because each design varies quite significantly from one to the next. However, in the midst of wedding planning, flowers have become a big part of my life. Inspired by the colours, textures and patterns of such natural beauty, these pieces centre mainly around the golden rose charm which I bought in Tokyo last year. I found a store selling jewellery making bits and pieces in the most unusual of places – Akihabara (Electric city), on the top floor of a building which is filled with all sorts of electronic gadgets.
With the recent devastation that has struck Japan and with the seasons soon to turn, the rose symbolises a fresh start. This is something I pray Japan can quickly achieve.
On a brighter note, I am hoping for a few changes to www.u-fhern.com – some more new products and collections for starters, more market stalls, and possibly even getting on board Etsy. To stay in touch and keep updated, it’s best to follow me on Twitter and on the U-Fhern Handmade Jewelry fan page on Facebook. To encourage some clicks to “follow” and “become a fan”, I’ve set up a little competition with jewellery to be won!
